The King of Kings
For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which [is] before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, [and there shall be] a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. (Zechariah 14:2-4,9)
His earthly reign of 1,000 years will be a universal kingdom in which all principalities, powers, and enemies are overcome. The kingdom will be ruled from Jerusalem (Psalm 2:4-9) (Zechariah 8:3), not Heaven where Christ currently sits at the right hand of God (Psalm 110:1). Those that belong to Christ will reign with him during the 1000 years (Rev 20:4-6).
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. (John 3:13)
In the account of the Lazarus resurrection, without doubt the disciples were well aware of the future resurrection of the dead (John 11:1-44).
As always there is great truth and peace to be found in the Holy Bible. Rather than wondering where our loved ones are and what will become of us when we pass away, we can be confident that The Almighty Father has everything well in hand. If we believe and belong to Christ we will be resurrected to immortality upon his return, if not we are destined to be resurrected after the millennium in the second resurrection. There along with all others who have not believed, or who lived before Jesus time or without the spirit of God we will have to stand before God in the Great White Throne Judgment (Rev 20:11), and be judged according to our works.
Everything in its correct order - Thy will be done great Lord, on earth as it is in heaven.
