HOW TO KILL A CHURCH: 1) Don't come, 2) Come late, 3) Come bound to find fault, 4) Never pray for fellow brethren, 5) Don't sing, 6) Don't attend prayer meetings, 7) Tell your pastor's faults to other people, 8) Don't offer to shake hands with a visitor, 9) Refuse to bring anyone to church, 10) Refuse to contribute money for church missions, 11) Try to run the church by maintaining that your views be adopted in all areas, 12) Speak ill about active workers and volunteers, 13) Be concerned with your personal affairs and not on church welfare, and, 14) Never tell others about Christ and the coming kingdom.

Dear Brethren,

Greetings in the name of Jesus!

I am the Pastor of the Church of God (Seventh Day) in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India

Today, I visited our sister conference website and found the link to your website.  I am very happy to inform you that the information in your website are very useful and I downloaded the Telugu tranlation of the Bible.

In this connection, I would like to inform you that I am also the Zone-4 (Asia) Representative of the Church of God (Seventh Day) and there are more than 250 churches in different states of India.  Many of the church members are poor and they cannot afford to buy a bible nor do they access to computers.  In view of the above, we would be very grateful to you, if you can send us 100 printed bibles in Telugu (India language) for free distribution.

For more details of our ministries in India and beyond, you may visit our web site or find us at face book

I look forward to your kind reply at your earliest convenience.  God bless you.

Yours Brother in Christ,

As mentioned I do not moderate a forum, there are other COG sites that do so please use them if that is what you are looking for. Alternatively if you feel so strongly about your own point of view, why not pay for, design and run your own site? Our visitor page is not designed for and was never intended for forum like communication. Therefor if I choose remove to remove your message(s) this is the reason why.

Hi Kevin, Appreciate your thoughts and they are held by many other brethren. Yes the early church was founded in Jerusalem by our Lord but there was also a clear difference in what Gentile believers brought to the early church and also what was expected of them. I also believe the Passover will come to fulfillment in the Kingdom of God, but it hasn't yet. Our paths are often long and winding ones. Did Christ deny you or others when the name Jesus was called out in the hope of salvation? Did you and others understand and keep the feasts upon that first calling? Will all Gods chosen keep the feasts before the Kingdom comes - it wouldn't appear so, but I am sure they will when fulfillment comes if that is the Lords will. There will always be conjecture around this but remember Paul's words in Corinthians 13:12 - "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." I do not moderate a forum intentionally as they often descend into argumentative bickering, however once again, thank you and keep in touch.

Why do so many Christians desire titles in front of their names? It is wrong and it is contrary to Jesus' teachings, "it shall not be so among you".

I was in one church denomination where the "men in charge" demanded to be called "Mister". Do you find this disturbing? Good, but why do so many want to be called "Pastor" or "Elder". A pastor is a job in the church not a leadership position, as is an elder. Why do men want to be called Pastor Smith, or Pastor Jones, or Elder Smith or Elder Jones? It's wrong. It's coveting power or position.

I'm a bricklayer by trade but I don't go around signing my papers, Bricklayer Kevin McMillen.

Why is this so relevant in the Church of God? It's wrong people!

Why do so many Christians neglect clear scriptural quotes to follow their church denominations doctrines? Which should take precedence, a denominations doctrines/theology or scripture?

When one chooses denominational doctrines over scripture they break the first commandment by placing doctrine above the clear word of God. This is idolatry.

The bible clearly says that Paul was a Feast keeper. 1 Cor. 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Now, read this cripture, forgetting all theological arguments. What does it clearly say? "Let us keep the Feast!" We can argue the symbolism, then intent all day long but we can't argue those clear five words, "Let us keep the Feast". Now only did Paul include himself in this "Let us" he included gentile Corinthians. He's clearly telling them to keep the Feast. Argue your denominational doctrines all you want, but you're only arguing against clear scripture.

Another scripture that proves clearly that Paul was a Feast keeper is:

Act 18:21 But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: Again, doctrinal arguments should be moot against this clear scripture. What's more important, your denominational pet doctrines or scripture?

So why do so many Christians reject the Lord's (YHVH's) Feasts? Scripture is clear that the Passover won't be completely fulfilled until the Kingdom of God.

Luk 22:15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: 16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.

Jesus here tells us two crystal clear things, first the Passover won't be completely fulfilled until the Kingdom of God, second, in the Kingdom even Jesus himself will eat of the Passover.

Scripture is also clear that in the Kingdom that all nations will keep the Feast of Tabernacles. Zech. 14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

Again, at least for a while lay aside your denominational teachings and just read the scripture, what does it say? All nations, even Egypt will keep the Feast of Tabernacles. Are we going to continue to argue our denominations doctrinal theology or are we going to allow scripture to speak for itself?

The bible is clear on the subject of whether or not we are to keep the Lord's Feasts, it's denominational theology and a persons stubborn adherence to that theology that confuses the subject.

Are we as Chjristians to follow a denomination or are we to follow the Word of God? We commit idolatry when we reject clear scipture to follow a specific denomination!
